Monsanto is Spanish for my saint or maybe it is French. It is a nice name that masks a monster corporation, big, unaccountable and determined to make money no matter what. My expert advice, from someone with a doctorate in biology is that their approach to genetic modification is irresponsible and dangerous. Then there is their attitude to taking over agriculture. The truth is out there and they don't want you to know it.
Patenting new
seed varieties gives them power. Forcing farmers not use their own
crops for the planting means lotsa money for Monsanto and poor
farmers getting poorer. With food prices going up and food riots in
various countries Monsanto is one bunch of rip off merchants that
need sorting out. One opponent, one who tells the truth is
Jeffrey Smith.

Monsanto Brought Us Agent Orange
QUOTE
Over the last year, you have stood with us as we Occupied at Zuccotti Park, Washington DC, San Francisco and other cities across the nation. We fought for economic equality and social justice for all and you joined your voices with ours as we took a stand against war, environmental destruction and most recently against oil baron billionaires the Koch Brothers. Now we turn our attention to an entity which has been poisoning our people, strangling the agriculture industry, and damaging our biosphere all while paying off our politicians and regulatory organizations.
The multinational biotech giant MONSANTO is the world's leading producer of genetically modified seeds and crops, responsible for 90 percent of the genetically engineered seed on the United States market.
Monsanto, the company that brought the world Agent Orange, is also the creator of the best-selling herbicide Roundup, which has spawned over 120 million hectares of herbicide-resistant superweeds while damaging massive amounts of soil.[1]
Monsanto has created several varieties of "superbugs". Monsanto engineered genetically modified crops containing Bt, a toxin incorporated in GMO crops which has spawned insect populations which are resistant to the biopesticide. Insect populations have and are mutating to resist the biopesticide. So far at least 8 insect populations have developed resistance, with 2 populations resistant to Bt sprays and at least 6 species resistant to Bt crops as a whole. Farmers are therefore forced to use even more pesticides to combat the resistant bugs.[2]
Monsanto may be destroying the planet's soil. Certain bacteria essential as "food-starters," such as L cremoris, used in raw and fermented dairy products have begun to disappear in certain geographic regions. The cause has been found to be an element of Monsanto's Roundup herbicide, glyphosate which is destroying and/or altering the microbial biodiversity of the soil, jeopardizing the fertility of the entire biosphere.[3]
Monsanto has been caught running "slave-like" rings, holding off pay and forcing undocumented workers to buy their food only from the Monsanto company store. The company not only "hired" all of the workers illegally, but prevented them from leaving the farm premises and withheld their salaries. [4]
Monsanto effectively owns most US diplomats, and is currently using this political capital to start Trade Wars against Nations Opposed to Monsanto's destructive policies[5]. France, Hungary, and Peru are a few of the countries that have decided stand up to Monsanto with Hungary going as far as destroying 1000 acres of maize found to have been grown with GMOs. Peru has passed a monumental 10 year ban on modified foods and French legislatures are planning to launch new restrictions regarding the use of Monsantos 810 maize on French soil.[6]
Monsanto poses one of the greatest threats on the planet to human health and the environment.
NationofChange is teaming up with activists across the country for an ongoing campaign to fight back against one of the worst corporations in the world.
The first step: raise awareness about Monsanto's crimes against human health and the environment

The World According to Monsanto - A documentary that Americans won't ever see
On March 11 [ 2008 ] a new documentary was aired on French television (ARTE – French-German cultural TV channel) by French journalist and film maker Marie-Monique Robin, The World According to Monsanto - A documentary that Americans won't ever see. The gigantic biotech corporation Monsanto is threatening to destroy the agricultural biodiversity which has served mankind for thousands of years.
GM Explained by Árpád Pusztai
QUOTE
Publishing inconvenient studies of risks of genetically modified potatoes.
A Hungarian-born UK Scientist, Pusztai was a world renowned expert on food
safety, who worked at UK's leading food safety research lab, the
Rowett Institute. He evoked world wide media attention in August 1998, when he said in
British TV that he would not eat genetically engineered food because of the
insufficient scientific testing. In 1999, he published a study about potential
dangers of genetically modified potatoes in The Lancet. The potential damage to
the biotech industry from this study, and the industry’s massive campaign for
public confidence in genetically modified foods, is obvious. Shortly after, the
Rowett Institute suspended Pusztai, claimed that his study was not supported by
the evidence, and aged him. A scientific committe was asked by the Rowett
institute to review the study Pustai referred to. It said there were important
deficiencies in the study. Pusztai then sent the research protocols to 24
independent scientists in different countries. These turned down the conclusions
of the review committee and found that his research was of good quality and
justified his conclusions.

Investigative journalist Andrew Rowell[33]
wrote in his 2003 book Don't worry, it's safe to eat: The true story of GM
food, BSE and foot and mouth that pressure to sack Pusztai had been
applied to the institute from
Monsanto, a multinational company that owns 90 percent of GM seed
technology.[20]
According to Rowell, professor
Robert Orskov, who was working at Rowett at the time, heard that US
President
Clinton rang Prime Minister
Blair
who then rang James to tell him to silence Pusztai. Pusztai's colleague
Stanley Ewen says he heard the story from another Rowett researcher,
Asim Duttaroy.[34]
In 2008 James Randerson,
The
Guardian's environment and science news editor,[35]
telephoned Orskov and Duttaroy and emailed James.[34]
Orskov said that while he would not be surprised if the calls had occurred, he
had no personal knowledge of them. Duttaroy remembers his conversation with
Ewen, but does not remember making any statements about political
manipulation. In 1999 James had denied receiving any phone calls from
Government or
Cabinet, but later stated to Randerson that he was phoned by "the science
officer in the Department of Agriculture in the
Scottish Office".[34]
He says the conversation played no role in his decision to suspend Pusztai.[20]
A study conducted by a Greenpeace consultant was released in 2007 and contended that rats fed Roundup Ready soybeans suffered even greater organ damage than in Pusztai's experiment. Although the study was never peer reviewed and the methodology criticised by several scientists in the Nature Biotechnology journal,[37] environmental groups say it has "vindicated research [done] by Dr Arpad Pusztai".[36] A survey by the European Food Safety Authority GMO Panel Working Group on Animal Feeding Trials concluded that "Results obtained from testing GM food and feed in rodents indicate that large (at least 100-fold) 'safety' margins exist between animal exposure levels without observed adverse effects and estimated human daily intake. Results of feeding studies with feed derived from GM plants with improved agronomic properties, carried out in a wide range of livestock species, are discussed. The studies did not show any biologically relevant differences in the parameters tested between control and test animals."[38] In 2005 Pusztai was given a whistleblower award from the Federation of German Scientists.

Do we need Genetic modification? That is the right question. NO! Is the right answer. GM Watch is against it. Monsanto is for it. Monsanto wants power. Monsanto wants even more billions. Monsanto is greedy. Monsanto is irresponsible. Monsanto is owned by Jews. Monsanto Family Were Jews & Slave Traders.
