Is in Africa and living proof that blacks are incapable of running anything. The country is rich and the people are poor, very poor because they are being robbed of oil income which is around £370 million and enough to be useful. Mark Thatcher had a go at taking over in collusion with Simon Mann. It didn't work.
Francisco Macías Nguema was the president [ 1968 - 79 ] and called himself Unique Miracle among other things. Banning the word 'intellectual' was unusual. It gets worse
Strange Days Indeed - Review by The Spectator tells us that:-
QUOTE
I was pleased to see that he took notice of Macias Nguema, Equatorial Guinea’s first president and ‘Unique Miracle,’ who wanted to kill everyone who wore glasses as a dangerous intellectual and kept the national treasury under his bed. But he omits the most significant single fact about him: that he was democratically elected.
UNQUOTE
He sounds rather like Idi Amin.
Oil Boom In Equatorial Guinea But Blacks Get Robbed Blind [ 6 December 2009 ]
QUOTE
Equatorial Guinea is Africa's third-largest exporter of oil and gas, but the vast majority of its 500,000 people live in dire poverty. The small country pumps out nearly 300,000 barrels of oil each day but the production in effect controlled by foreign companies, leading to fears that Equatorial Guinea is not developing the skills of its own people.
UNQUOTE
At $75 a barrel that is an income of $45 a day for every man, woman and child which is something like a decent living except that it all getting stolen. They would have been better off being robbed by Mann and Thatcher. In the event it is a black with Americans and Chinese doing the work to get the oil.
