Transmission Belts

Transmission belts is a term used by Lenin as an analogy for the Propaganda conduits that were going to tell the workers what to think. Nowadays it the Main Stream Media and the Education industry which do the same job and very effectively too. Then the Internet came along to bypass them and tell the truth.

Marxism In Practice
QUOTE
Transmission Belts
Lenin believed that revolutionary social transformation comes through disciplined organizational transmission belts of power and subversion. He thought that permanent social change must be secretly planned at the top and implemented hierarchically by means of a cause-and-effect system of institutional commands and responses. His ideal was a statist command structure with absolute obedience and predictable, measurable results. This is not the way the world works........ the best refutation of Lenin’s transmission belt theory in modern history is Karl Marx. Marx was an obscure, unemployed, German-speaking academic in exile during his adult lifetime, but his ideas spread quietly through the revolutionary underground. Lenin put flesh on the ideological skeleton and successfully captured the Russian State in an improbable coup.

Lenin was effective, murderous and immensely dangerous but he was not a great propagandist. The master liar of communism was Willi Münzenberg, a far better man in his chosen field.

The Naked Communist And Transmission Belts
The term was in the literature but seems to be out of favour. Here is an example.

The Naked Communist And Transmission Belts

Cleon Skousen did not like communists and his book explains why. He tells us that transmission belts were part of the propaganda machinery. Any resemblance to the The Protocols of the Learned Elders of Zion is purely coincidental.

EXCERPTS FROM NAKED COMMUNIST
QUOTE
EXCERPTS FROM The Naked Communist
Former FBI agent, Cleon_Skousen, in 1958, in his book, THE NAKED COMMUNIST, revealed among other things, these long term goals of the communist agenda. The information is in the Congressional Record August 1963 and in the Communist Manifesto:

U.S. acceptance of coexistence as the only alternative to atomic war.
Develop the illusion that total disarmament by the U.S. would be a demonstration of moral strength.
Permit free trade between all nations regardless of communist affiliation and regardless of whether or not items could be used for war.
Provide American aid to all nations regardless of communist domination.
Set up East West Germany as separate states in spite of Khrushchev's promise in 1955 to settle the German question by free elections under supervision of the U.S.
Allow all Soviet satellites individual representation in the United Nations.
Promote the United Nations as the only hope for mankind. If its charter is rewritten, demand that it be set as a one-world government with its own independent armed forces.
Resist any attempt to outlaw the Communist Party.
Do away with loyalty oaths.
Capture one or both of the political parties in the U.S.
Use technical decisions of the courts to weaken basic American institutions by claiming their activities violate civil rights.
Get control of the schools. Use them as transmission belts for socialism and current communist propaganda. Get control of the teachers associations.
Gain control of all student newspapers.
Infiltrate the press. Get control of book review assignments, editorial writing, policy-making positions.
Gain control of key positions in radio, TV and motion pictures.
Eliminate all laws governing obscenity by calling them censorship and a violation of free speech and free press.
Break down cultural standards of morality by promoting pornography and obscenity in books, magazines, motion pictures and TV.
Present homosexuality, degeneracy and promiscuity as normal, natural and healthy.
Infiltrate the churches and replace revealed religion with social religion. Discredit the Bible and emphasize the need for intellectual maturity which does not need a religious crutch.
Eliminate prayer or any phase of religious expression in the schools on the grounds that it violates the principles of separation of church and state.
Discredit the American Constitution by calling it inadequate, old-fashioned, out of step with modern needs, a hindrance to cooperation between nations on a worldwide basis.
Belittle all forms of American culture and discourage the teaching of American history on the grounds that it was only a minor part in the big picture.
Eliminate all laws or procedures which interfere with the operation of the communist apparatus.
Eliminate the House Committee on Un-American Activities.
Discredit the family as an institution. Encourage promiscuity and easy divorce.
Emphasize the need to raise children away from the negative influence of parents.
Create the impression that violence and insurrection are legitimate aspects of the American traditions; that students and special interest groups should rise up and use united force to solve economic, political and social problems.

Not a bad summary of the way things were going from someone writing in 1958
