Ligali Party

The Ligali Party is a party for blacks and their sympathizers only. You might feel that this contravenes the Race Relations Act 1976 and similar legislation. It does or, at all events Trevor Phillips of the Equality and Human Rights Commission has chosen to claim that it is the case for the  British National Party (BNP) a party established for Englishmen, Scots and Welsh.

The Commission's legal director John Wadham has stated that

"The legal advice we have received indicates that the British National party's constitution and membership criteria, employment practices and provision of services to constituents and the public may breach discrimination laws which all political parties are legally obliged to uphold"

They have chosen not to proceed against:-

These are just a few of hundreds of groups founded to discriminate against white men and people in general. EHRC de facto policy is to discriminate against England, Englishmen and anyone white unless they happen to be fellow apparatchiks. The law is being perverted for political ends, principally Cultural Genocide directed against us by the followers of Antonio Gramsci, the chief theoretician of the communist party and Lenin's Useful Idiots

A Political Party For Only Black Members
QUOTE

Trevor Phillips, the chairman of the EHRC, started a legal action against the British National Party because of its membership criteria, a move supported by the British political elite in order to damage the only party who represent the interests of native Britons. However, or maybe unsurprisingly, Mr Phillips never complained about blacks and asians-only [ sic ] political organizations. We would advise him to look the register of the Electoral Commission, where he would find out that one of the parties registered there is the Ligali Party. This party was registered the 23/09/2003, its leader is Mr Toyin Agbetu, its nomination officer Ms Oleander William and its treasurer Mrs Funmi Womack. None of those names sound British but this is not the only surprise.

Its emblem is a shield with the words “A voice for the African British Community”.

Ligali Man Arrested
QUOTE
A lone protester has interrupted a commemorative service at Westminster Abbey marking the 200th anniversary of the act to abolish the slave trade. The event, attended by the Queen and Tony Blair, was almost over when human rights campaigner Toyin Agbetu began shouting: "This is an insult to us." He condemned African Christians for taking part and told them to walk out. The service resumed minutes later after security guards led him outside. He was arrested and is being held in custody. Mr Agbetu, 39 - a campaigner for Ligali, an African-British human rights organisation - did have a valid ticket for the service, according to the abbey.

EHCR Letter To The BNP
The Commission has a statutory duty, under the Equality Act 2006, to enforce the provisions of the Act and to work towards the elimination of unlawful discrimination. This duty includes preventing discrimination by political parties.

The Commission thinks that the BNP’s constitution and membership criteria may discriminate on the grounds of race and colour, contrary to the Race Relations Act. The party’s membership criteria appear to restrict membership to those within what the BNP regards as particular “ethnic groups” and those whose skin colour is white. This exclusion is contrary to the Race Relations Act which the party is legally obliged to comply with. The Commission therefore thinks that the BNP may have acted, and be acting, illegally.

Update On Commission's Letter To The British National Party
20 July 2009
We can confirm that the BNP has written to the Commission requesting an extension until Friday 24 July 2009. As is normal in these situations, the Commission has agreed to give the BNP this additional time to respond to our requirements.
